For Jordan's first two birthdays, I made him cherry pie. I thought it might be a fun tradition, being George Washington's birthday and all (not to mention the fact that I like cherry pie). Well, Jordan outgrew the cherry pie, and moved onto bigger and better things. This year, he picked a soccer ball cake, laser tag with friends, and
Nintendo ds. He had a birthday with his best buddies, and one with his family. For the family party, I asked him what kind of cake he wanted me to make. He actually requested pumpkin pie - not exactly cherry. But things change, traditions change, and Jordan is changing, too. This is his last year in the "single digits." Sometimes I wish I could turn back time, and enjoy every moment of him growing up - but time goes by so fast, and kids grow in the blink of an eye - I cannot tell a lie.
