The Best Job there is

The other day, we were in the backyard playing baseball with the kids. When it was Ryan's turn, he suddenly became shy and embarrassed to be the center of attention. He had a sheepish grin, and suddenly a proud excitement when he hit the ball. He immediately looked at me to see my reaction. In that (humbling) moment, it made me realize how much impact I had on this little guy, and made me think.........

It's humbling to know
that you have the power
to make a kid smile
and change who they are

It's humbling to see
the trust that they have
and the way they look up
to their mom and their dad

It's oh so humbling
that something so small
can make a bond stronger
a bat and a ball

It makes you realize
the time spent with your kids
makes parenting really
the best job there is.
