If only........
Carter's kid's clothing company had a slogan "If only they could stay little forever". That thought never seemed too appealing to me - especially when I had three kids 4 and under to take care of. I couldn't see far enough into the future to know that the future wasn't so far after all. Jordan and Kylie started school last week. I took them the first day, close by their side, until Kylie caught sight of her friend, and sprinted away. She happily met her new teacher, and sat right at her desk - even posing for a quick picture. Jordan was greeted at his door with a firm handshake - my cue that he was too big to have mom follow him into the classroom. They're not so little anymore, and they don't need mom as much anymore (or at least they don't think so). But I realized that subconsciously, I may be trying to slow this "growing up thing" down. I had both of their "first day" outfits picked out weeks in advance. For Kylie, I chose a pink dress with Turtles - for Jordan, a Baby Blue shirt. If only it were that easy.

I have been waiting for the first day of school pictures. Your much better than me because I bought the girls dresses the day before school started. I hope the kids like their teachers! Love Kylie's hair and the earrings. A sign that she is growing up! I'm sure Jordan wasn't tellin all his buddies that his mom picked out that cool "baby blue shirt" for him! ~D
