Jordan's First Communion

This Sunday, we celebrated Jordan's First Communion. Grandma flew out for the festivities, and Jordan looked very handsome in his suit, "Daddy shirt", and clip-on tie. As Father Ed was about to speak at the mass, it became very quiet. All you could hear were the sounds of Ryan snoring (he slept the entire time), and the dreaded ringing of some one's cell phone. As everyone looked around to find the guilty party, Father Ed stepped to the podium and answered his own cell phone. He lightened the mood by telling the kids that Pope Benedict was on the phone congratulating them on their Communion. Later, he told them that he was just kidding, but assured them that if the Pope were there, he would be very proud. Jordan was the first to receive Communion, and did very well. When I asked what he thought about it, he replied "The wine wasn't as bad as I thought it would be."
