Fast Forward

The last time Kylie dressed up like a princess was when she was 22 months old. She got another opportunity this weekend while attending a birthday party at Sweet and Sassy. It was a runway fashion show complete with wardrobe, makeup, hair, nail polish, and lots of posing. I intended on just dropping her off, but stayed almost the entire time to see her glittery transformation. She actually took to this "girly stuff" better than I thought she would - having an opinion about which dress, lip gloss, and nail polish she wanted. During the "hair portion", she was asked if she wanted to be a princess, rock star, or diva. Kylie said "rock star", but the teenie bopper music was playing so loudly, that the lady must have heard "hand grenade", as Kylie emerged with her hair piled on top of her hair in tiny little balls. I flashed forward to her wedding - would I be able to keep my opinions to myself, and let her wear her hair any way? Much to my delight, Kylie said "Mama, I don't like my hair so much" - I was so happy that we had the same opinion. As I was taking her hair down, and returning it to normal, I was smiling, and congratulating myself on what a tasteful daughter I had raised - until she said "I want my hair like a poodle, instead".

I remember that cute picture when she was just a little girl. I think she is like Kendal and totally "girly". They are much happier chasing snakesat the park!
