Kylie gets some Bling

Yesterday we made an outing to "Sweet and Sassy" to get Kylie's ears pierced - a present from Grandma. Kylie has been wanting earrings ever since seeing her kindergarten friends with an array of sparkly jewelry. As we were driving to "Sweet and Sassy" in our van, I told Kylie what to be prepared for, and asked if she had any questions. She thought about it, and asked me what "Sassy" meant. Well, let's just say that I should not be a contestant on "Are you smarter than a fifth grader?", but I distracted her from the answer with the promise of a lollipop - just how do you define "sassy" to a 6 year old, anyway?
Once we arrived, Kylie picked out the biggest, pinkest, most sparkly earrings that they had. The employee skillfully guided Kylie into a more size appropriate choice, and started giving Kylie a pep talk to rival that of a halftime football speech. Apparently, some kids leave Sweet and Sassy with only one earring, so this was a preemptive measure. With Kylie ready to GO, I was more nervous than her, but she took it like a champ. She got little tears in her eyes (so did I) after the first, but was ready to go for the second. She did great, and got to admire the work in a pink mirror immediately after. I think she does look very sweet, but sassy, well, I don't know about that.

Lookin' Good Kylie!!!
I almost got a tear in my eye reading that! She looks so cute in those earings. Glad she went for the small earings and not the big and sassy ones...ha ha!
