A Lesson comes to Life

Just yesterday, Jordan released his Painted Lady Butterfly, a 2nd grade class project. He watched the transition from caterpillar to butterfly. His class had a "release party" complete with cupcakes and oranges (can't these kids do anything nowadays without receiving a snack or treat???). Anyway, when he came home from school today, this beautiful butterfly was in our front yard. It was amazing! We got a close-up look at all of the body parts, a great opportunity for Jordan to apply his lesson. Kylie ran off to get her butterfly puppet to keep it company as well as a few cut flowers. The butterfly was very tolerant, and made his escape just in time before Ryan tried to "pet it".
