Destination................Destin

We just got back from our trip to Destin, Florida. We decided to drive down for Fall break - the kids had a few days off, and when people go to the beach from Tennessee, this is about the closest. The kids just loved hanging out at the beach, running in the waves, and building sand castles. All was perfect and ideal - perhaps a little too good to be true.........
On the second morning, we experienced "red tide" - a form of algae that blooms in the water, and causes respiratory symptoms as well as burning eyes. It was intense, and we were forced into the indoor pool, but were able to enjoy the beach later that afternoon. A minor setback..........Surely the rest of the trip would go smoothly - after all, Aaron's Cal Bears and Cowboys lost this weekend, nothing else could go wrong, right? Later that evening, we took the kids for ice cream, and lo and behold, our "check engine" light comes on as the car begins to overheat (before our 7 hour drive the next day). Fortunately, we were able to fix the problem, and had smooth sailing for our drive home. All in all, we had a great time, as well as many "live and learn" moments. It's great to be back in Tennessee, counting all of our blessings, and being thankful for being back to business as usual.

Looks like you guys had a fun time at the beach! Great photos! Sounds like you guys might be in the market for a new larger car!
